Car Insurance Geo (Car Insurance). Car dealership question?

Car dealership question? I had one dealership do a credit check for me and have been talking to them about purchasing a car from their dealership. I haven't done any paperwork or signed anything yet, just had a few phone conversations about interest rates/pricing and the like. I visited another dealership today who has a special program for first time buyers (me) and they have approved me for a new car at 2.9% financing, which is a much better deal than the previous dealership. I plan on purchasing a car from dealership #2. So if I call dealership #1 and say hey sorry but I've found a car elsewhere with better rates etc etc, they can't say hey well you've gotta buy a car from us we did this this and that for you etc etc right? Like I said I haven't signed any paperwork at either dealership, but I'm set on getting the car from dealer #2. Thanks!

No, in fact you don't have to call dealership 1 to tell them anything. If they happen to call you, tell them you are no longer in a market for a car. If you didn't sign anything, you can do whatever you want. You don't have to call them unless you feel you want to in case they might offer you a better deal. Sometimes they will match or beat another dealer if you get a better deal. Never hurts to pit one against the other and see who offers you the best deal. If you didn't sign anything, you're under no obligation to Dealership #1. Obviously you want the best deal, lowest interest rate and the car you like. If you felt inclined to call Dealership #1 to thank them, that's entirely up to you. It could also open the door to them making a counter offer if they still wanted the opportunity to gain your business. It's a buyers market, so keep your options open. You're in the driver's seat. :) If you didn't sign anything involving bank financing at dealership #1, your good to go. Also dealership #1 may try to beat dealership #2's offer, so If anything you'll get an awesome deal on a car. You are not obligated at all to either dealer.

Geo . Why do all American Airlines employees dog the Super 80 or MD80?

Why do all American Airlines employees dog the Super 80 or MD80? I am a Platinum on American airlines and fly almost weekly. Most of my trips are on Super 80's. While the interior is outdated frequent fliers love the 2-3 seating in coach which only puts 20% of coach passengers in center isle. I have also notice how dependable these aircraft are and I cannot remember a delay of more than a couple of hours when a Super 80 is parked at the gate. I rarely hear flight attendants say anything kind about the aging airplane. Recently on a flight from LAX to DFW I sat next to a pilot dead heading and he told me he was a former Super 80 pilot and now flys the 737 and it was the best change in his young career. I never hear anyone have anything good to say about this workhorse. While American slowly replaces Super 80s with the 737 I will never forget my six years of travel in the dependable Super 80. car insurance.

Car Window Isn't Working? I have a Buick 1999. I googled how to fix a broken window and it sounded like the window was just off the track, but I don't understand. I took the door panel off and am looking around to see what's wrong. The wirings connecting the lift to operate the window try to work whenever I hit the button to move the window up and down. But it goes wonky and doesn't move all the way. Where's the track? Is it on the lift (that metal beam thing?) If it is, it's concealed inside another panel of the door. car insurance.

Geo . How to Change the Rotors on a 2500 Chevy

If you have detected a worn or damaged brake rotor on your 2500 Chevy model, you need to change it as soon as possible. Although a relatively simple task, removal and installation requires proper handling of brake assembly components and a new rotor to prevent damage, ensure the good operation of the brake system and keep you safe on the road. With the required tools, and possible tools you may need handy, you can safely perform the job at home.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Clean rag
Clean turkey baster
Container
Lug wrench
Floor jack
Jack stand
Large C-clamp
Ratchet
Ratchet extension
Socket
Heavy wire
Brake parts cleaner
Clean, lint-free rag
2 M10-by-1.5 bolts, if necessary
Slide hammer, if necessary
Soft brush
Wire brush
Threadlocker
New brake fluidSuggest EditsItem AddWhy is it necessary?DoneRemoving the Rotor

Step by Step :
1
Park your Chevy pickup in a safe and level place. Shift the transmission to neutral (N).
2
Using a clean rag, clean the cap and body of the brake master cylinder reservoir.
3
Draw at least two-thirds of the brake fluid from the master cylinder using a clean turkey baster and an appropriate container. Set the cap back in place but loose.
4
With a lug wrench, loosen the wheel lug nuts on the wheel/tire assembly with the rotor you are changing.
5
Raise the wheel/tire assembly using a floor jack and support it on a jack stand. Finish removing the wheel/tire.
6
Retract the brake caliper pistons into their bore using a large C-clamp. Position the clamp over the caliper and use the clamp screw to push against the brake pad to force the pistons back.
7
Remove the two brake caliper bracket mounting bolts using a ratchet, ratchet extension and socket.
8
Lift the caliper and mounting bracket as an assembly off the rotor and secure it to the coil spring using a piece of heavy wire. Leaving the caliper and bracket hanging loose will damage the brake hose connected to the caliper.
9
Remove the rotor from the hub. If the rotor seems stuck, clean the hub and rotor assembly, including the threaded holes in the rotor, with brake parts cleaner and a clean, lint-free rag. Then, if you are changing a front rotor, install two M10-by-1.5 bolts into the threaded holes of the rotor. Tighten the bolts evenly and gradually with a ratchet and socket to pull the rotor free. On rear wheels, rotate as you pull the rotor off the hub. Alternatively, use a slide hammer with a hooked end and pull the rotor from the vents on the edge.
Installing the New Rotor

Step by Step :
1
Clean the hub flange-mating surface with brake parts cleaner, a soft brush and a clean, lint-free rag.
2
Wipe the friction surfaces of the new rotor with brake parts cleaner and a clean, lint-free rag to remove the protective film.
3
Position the new rotor in place.
4
Remove the caliper and bracket assembly from the coil spring and set it in place over the rotor.
5
Clean the caliper bracket mounting bolts with a wire brush, brake parts cleaner and a clean, lint-free rag.
6
Coat the threads of the caliper bracket mounting bolts with a threadlocker.
7
Install and start the caliper bracket bolts by hand. Then, tighten the bolts using the ratchet, ratchet extension and socket.
8
Install the tire and, with the lug wrench, tighten the wheel lug nuts.
9
Lower the vehicle and finish tightening the wheel lug nuts.

Step by Step :
10
Slowly pump the brake pedal several times to help the caliper pistons and brake pads properly seat over the new rotor.

Step by Step :
11
Fill the brake master cylinder with new brake fluid to bring the level up to the "Full" mark.

Geo . How to Change Rotors on a Nissan Xterra

The Nissan Xterra is manufactured with hydraulically actuated disk brakes, which use a caliper, pads, and rotor to stop the truck using friction. The primary friction surface is the spinning rotor, which can wear or become damaged. Warped rotors can cause reduced braking power, and possibly loss of control at high speeds. Replacement can take the average backyard mechanic about 30 minutes per brake.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Socket set
Lug wrench
Floor jack
Jack stand
Screwdrivers

Step by Step :
1
Lift the Xterra at the wheel by placing the floor jack on a frame rail and pumping the lever until the wheel is off the ground; turn the lug nuts counterclockwise and the wheel will come off. Store the wheel away from the work area. Place a jack stand near the jack's head on the same frame rail for support. Unplug the ABS sensor from the caliper wiring harness adapter socket.
2
Remove the caliper by turning the twin rear mount bolts in a counterclockwise direction; the caliper will slide free of the rotor without these bolts in place. Watch for the pads, which can fall out of the caliper pistons once the unit is removed. Store the caliper on the control arm of the truck, or tie it to the control arm. Do not let the caliper dangle as the brake lines can become damaged.
3
Remove the rotor by turning the spindle nut counterclockwise, then pulling the rotor free of the hub. Resurface or replace the rotor, then position it back over the hub and secure the spindle nut clockwise.
4
Replace the pads on the caliper pistons, then slide the caliper over the new rotor. Secure the caliper by turning the mount bolts clockwise.
5
Replace the wheel, then turn all lug nuts in a clockwise direction, with an alternating pattern. Lower the truck by removing the jack stand and turning the pressure screw on the floor jack counterclockwise.
Tips & Warnings
Change rotors in pairs.

Change the pads when changing the rotors, so they will "mate" properly.

Use extreme caution while working underneath a lifted truck.
ResourcesAlways replace rotors when installing new brake pads

rear-wheel Crankshaft Clutch Input Throw-out drive. disk shaft bearing 1. The running engine produces power that causes the crankshaft to turn at a particular rate of speed. The faster the engine runs, the more power it produces and the faster the crankshaft turns. 2. At the rear end of the crankshaft is the engine flywheel. This disk-shaped plate turns at the same rate, and in the same direction, as the crankshaft. 3.

Geo . Why should people drive at 16?

Lexus LX.

Facing the flywheel is the first part of the clutch. This disk-shaped plate is called a clutch disk. When you are not stepping on the clutch pedal, this disk is forced against the flywheel (see Step 4). A coating of friction material causes the two plates to adhere to each other, which forces them to turn at the same speed. 4. Next to the clutch disk is the clutch pressure plate. This mechanism forces the clutch disk against the flywheel or allows it to move away from the flywheel when it is time to change gears. Here's how it does that: • When you step on the clutch pedal to disengage the clutch and disconnect the engine from the transmission, a clutch release arm forces a throwout bearing into the pressure plate's release levers. As a result, the pressure on the clutch disk is released, and the disk can turn independently of the flywheel. 1 7Q Part II: What Makes It Go? • After you move the gearshift to the proper gear, you release the clutch pedal. This movement causes springs in the pressure plate to force the disk against the flywheel again, and both the disk and the flywheel resume spinning together at a new speed.

In this way, the clutch disk can catch up with an engine that is turning faster — or more slowly — than before and can transmit its motion to the transmission. 5. On the clutch side of the flywheel, the drive train continues, but its name changes. It is not called the crankshaft anymore; it is now called the transmission input shaft because it carries the power via the turning shaft into the transmission. It rotates at the same speed and in the same direction as all the parts I've covered up to now. 6. Inside the transmission is a group of gears of varying sizes. These gears can move together and apart, in various combinations, to determine how fast and with how much power the car's wheels will turn, and in which direction. 7. The next part of the drive train emerges from the other side of the transmission, with another new name. This time it is called the transmission output shaft because it transmits the power that the transmission is putting out to the driveshaft.
